Life Insurance Underwriting Assistant


Job Description:

The Life Insurance Underwriting Assistant provides a broad spectrum of administrative support to the Life Services area with primary emphasis on Underwriting. Daily telephone interaction with Insurance Companies, Physician’s Offices, and Medical Facilities is required. In addition, Pre and Post Issue support is provided to Partners, which includes interaction with clients.


Responsibilities:

  • Underwriting Support –
    • Set up Underwriting Files
    • Ordering and Follow-Up Attending Physician Statements
    • Assist Underwriter in maintaining client data base
    • Review Life Policies for Accuracy and prepare delivery to Agents
    • Prepare Delivery Paperwork including client invoicing
    • Process Delivery Paperwork
    • Prepare Policy Annual Statement Files
    • Handle Attending Physician Statement Reimbursement
  • Life Service Support –
    • Assist in the preparation of License Applications and License Renewals
    • Maintain License Lists
    • Renewal Commission Posting
    • Maintain Life Checkbook including monthly balance
    • Provide administrative support to Life Partners 
    • Provide service support to Life Service Team

Qualifications:

  • Must have 3+ years of related industry experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Superior client service skills
  • Experience with Word and Excel
  • Candidate must possess the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, work quickly and accurately under pressure
  • Willingness to work overtime

Salary:
