Retirement Plan Business Development
and Marketing Professional

Responsibilities:
|
- Generate leads through personal and business contacts, for the sale of retirement plan and investment advisory services to business owners and/or corporate entities.
- Use networking to gain the trust of centers of influence and to develop multiple referral sources.
- Close new cases utilizing a consultative sales approach.
- Manage ongoing client relationships through periodic communications and annual reviews.
- Manage ongoing relationships with trusted client advisors (accountants, lawyers, investment advisors) through periodic communications and meetings.
- Identify new sales and cross-selling opportunities among existing client relationships.
- Maintain retirement plan knowledge and expertise of retirement plan regulatory and compliance issues and their impact on existing and future business.
- Participate in industry meetings to stay abreast of current trends and services in order to identify new sales opportunities and strategies.

Maintain tracking system to monitor sales activities on a weekly basis, including initial calls to potential clients, calls to trusted advisors, existing clients, and other sources of referrals or leads or new business opportunities generated from the activities.

Qualifications:
|
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Marketing or related field
- Securities registration (Series 6 or 7 and 63) a plus
- Investment advisory license (Series 65) a plus
- MBA or CFA a plus
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of five years experience in sales and marketing of financial products, preferably of company retirement plans.
- History of high volume of sales and the acquisition of new clients.
- Experience and success with 401(k) plans, 403(b) plans and other qualified and non-qualified retirement plans acquired by business owners, not-for-profits and corporations.
- Experience with mutual funds and other retirement plan investment vehicles.
- Knowledge of fiduciary obligations of retirement plan sponsors.
- Some experience with defined benefit pension plans helpful.
- Interest in developing expertise in new marketplaces and fields.
- Experience in developing personal business relationships, in particular networking.
- Experience in utilizing virtual and online networking sites, blogs and other technologies to enhance the development of referral networks.
- Knowledge of retirement plan compliance and regulatory issues.

- Willingness to travel and spend significant time with prospects and clients.
